JUXTAPOSITION EXERCISE
I had some exercise relating juxtaposition, I am required to merge 2 animal or insect and give out some points on why it's impossible to merge them together.Then, he asked us to write something with some concepts given and choose any 3 pairs of 2 digit in the list below:

3. Ice 8. Wood
4 .Light 7. Tree
5. Fire 6. Spider
6. Duck 5. Root
7. Dog 4. Mountain
8. Oil 3. Wind
9. Leave 2. Rock

I choose (6,7),(7,2) and (1,3)
MERGING 2 ANIMALS
In another exercise I required to create a passage based on the picture given by the lecturer.
PAIN
I feel cold inside as if I am left alone with an ample amount of ice cream in a vast area, sometimes I feel lonely and sometimes I feel sad, I was left alone freezing until I realize the pain that hidden in my heart.
LIFE
A sip of a warm, refreshing coffee in the morning indicates a start of a new life on a new day. The pungent scent from the cup that flow along with the steam lighten up our day early in the morning.

JUXTAPOSITION
Juxtaposition is to place something side by side , especially for comparison or contrast. The condition of a something being side by side or close together will generates our brain to reflect on the meaning and association of the 2 variables. Our brain will try to associate with the variables to find the similarity and the differences. For example, a pretty women walking side by side with an ugly women, a clear interpretation that I can make here is we can clearly see the dissimilarity between the 2 women in terms of beauty but at the same time we know both of them are women. It is a technique intended to stimulate creativity where we try to think of a better explanation on the variables.
Some examples of juxtaposition.
We can see that the girl is lying on her beloved grave, both of the girl and the deceased are human but they are in different condition.
Both of are fruits, but the difference between them is the colour.
Different type of buildings are in the same place in the same city with different kind of architecture and building structure.
Juxtaposition can be use in any field of work, for me I use it for art and design purpose as I am in the position of being an art student.

METHOD OF CREATIVE THINKING - MINDMAP
One way to generate idea creatively is by using the method of mind-mapping. Different people have different way of visualizing their mind map, some may use drawings and words to construct their mind map but others may only use words in their mind map.
Normally people use mind-mapping method to guide them to do their brainstorming on certain area of work that they are working on. Unlike any other technique, mind mapping allows simultaneous organization of complex relationships. Mind map consist of hierarchical relationship which links one thing to another.
There 2 types of mind map, Associated mind map and Logical mind map.
LOGICAL MIND MAP
In logical mind map, the words are connected in stereotype manner where people can easily understand what are being told in the mind map. Basically it is made up of logical information and knowledge where people will directly interpret the output from the mind map easily. Strong structure of logical mind map allows effective information and knowledge transfer.
ASSOCIATED MIND MAP
This kind of mind map uses random words that originally related to the main idea. Any word that are related to one another will be included to form associated mind map. Some of the ideas that came up with this mind map are usually are brilliant one because this kind of mind map allows people to think out of the box, and came up with good and fresh idea. The hierarchy in associated mind map is uncertain because there are so many related keywords included in one mind map.

NOVELTY, CREATIVITY, INNOVATION AND INVENTION
Creating an item that never ever been invented before is something called novelty. A quality of something new is another word to describe novelty. Every day, people are trying to improvise everything around them to make life better. Sometimes the improvisation that have been made turn an idea into a new invention.
Novelty involves both creativity and innovation. It just not the great idea that makes a good invention but the persistent in developing the idea. People always look at the final result but how about the hard work persistent behind the scene to make the vision a reality?
The best example of novelty is ipad, this is a fresh invention by Apple. Imagine the life of having your computer in your palm. Creativity and innovation will produce a unique invention like ipad.
Everything is impossible if you dare to take risk and work persistently on the vision that you have.

DEFINING CREATIVITY
People often encounter with problems in their life and when it troubles them the tend to ask themselves why?what?when?how? in order to find the solution to their problems. This question affect the way of thinking in getting more thought or solution to the problems. This is what creativity is all about. Thinking of a new alternative in solving or creating something.
People can be creative if they want to. It is all about how people think of an issue. Different people develop different kind of creativity. As an example, designers use their creativity in discovering a new way in expressing their work in art, this is something impossible for a doctor who treats patient in hospital. Creativity is a critical aspect in someone's life which can bring great impact on how a person dealing with his career.
Creative people continually work hard to improve ideas or solution by making gradual alterations or refinement. They develop a new idea based on the original idea that they have. They know that there are always room for improvement.
So, basically creativity is the ability to develop a new idea or solution, to see something in a new way.
